Clow Valve Corp - Oskaloosa, IA
Part 2 - other dry barrel and wet barrel models

  F2500 model
This model has a tapered round barrel and a 4-sided pyramid-shaped bonnet. The F2500 model appears to be identical to the PSCIPCo. M4. What agreement or relationship that existed between Clow Co. and PSCIP Co. at the time is currently unknown to FireHydrant.org.
  • Two style of bonnets are documented below as 'early style' and 'later style'
  • Made in 2 sizes; a 4½" V.O. that has 4 bolts at the barrel flange joint and a 5¼" V.O. size that can be found with either 4 or 8 bolts as noted below.
  • The model number "2500" is cast onto the barrel. Some are dated with the year of manufacture.

      Medallion model
This bonnet of this model still retains most of the original look of the hydrant patented by Eddy Valve in 1889!
  • The Medallion is made in 4½" and 5¼" V.O. sizes.
  • The hydrants are dated with year of manufacture.

Early hydrants had a bonnet that had the same diameter as the upper barrel flange. And this back view shows that "CLOW" was cast on the back as well as the front.
