  WT77 and WT77D Trend models (1977 - 1996)
This model is also referred to as the OLD STYLE TREND; with the NEW STYLE as described next. These style names are misleading as there is date overlap in the manufacture of these two styles of Trend hydrants.
  • The WT77 was a wet top model built from 1977 to 1987. It is visually different from the dry top in that it has a socket head pipe plug installed on the top of the operating nut.
  • The WT77D was a dry top model built from 1977 to 1996. It is visually different from the wet top in that it has a flat head screw installed into the top of the operating nut. This dry top model accounts for the overlap in production dates between the OLD STYLE and NEW STYLE TREND models.
  • It has an uncharacteristically tall upper barrel and was made only in 4.75" V.O.

      WB77 Trend model (1987 - present)
    The WB77 Trend and WB67 Pacer (shown next) models are really two sizes of the same hydrant design. They could have just as well been called the same model made in two sizes.
  • This Trend is a current model and is made only in 4.75" V.O.

      W67 and WB67 Pacer model (1967 - present)
    As mentioned above the WB77 Trend (shown above) and WB67 Pacer models are really two sizes of the same hydrant design.
  • The Pacer is a current model and is made only in 5.25" V.O. size; although early models have simply '5' cast onto the hydrant.
  • The W67 model designation refers to the non-traffic model; and the WB67 is the traffic model with the 4-bolt flanges above the designed ground line. These models are 150 PSI working pressure and made of gray iron.
  • Note image 1093 below shows a hydrant that says "Pacer 100" below the pumper nozzle; most do not have the model designation cast onto the hydrant. This may designate a 100 PSI working pressure hydrant.
  • Note image 1660 shows the optional "streamline" rocker-lug type caps offered by Waterous.

      W67-250 and WB67-250 Pacer model (1996 - present)
  • The W67-250 model designation refers to the non-traffic model; and the WB67-250 is the traffic model with the 4-bolt flanges above the designed ground line. These models are 250 PSI working pressure and made of (stronger) ductile iron whereas the familiar 150 PSI Pacers above are made of gray iron.
  • As can be noted below this higher pressure Pacer model is visually different from the 'standard' Pacer in that the nozzle section to barrel joint is thinner and a separate flange clamp is used (as at the ground line).
