Mainland Foundry manufactured hydrants from 1942 to 1962. They also made manholes and covers until 1975, when they diversified into specialty steels and alloys. The company closed down in 1991.

A waterworks document from the City of Vancouver suggests that these hydrants were clones of the List 75 model produced by Ludlow Valve Manufacturing of Troy, New York. There are slight differences in appearances between the two designs, but likely this hydrant had a sliding gate type mainvalve, a Ludlow distinction.

This single piece barrel model is the only variety known by this maker at this point in time.
